Ready to vote, but are unsure of how to register? Having worked voter registration at the last two elections, I can confidently tell you that it is an easy process.
The following is from https://www.bangormaine.gov/howtovote:
Where do I register?
Voter Registration is available for new voters or for existing Bangor voters to change their address or name as follows:
• At the Cross Insurance Center on Election Day (that’s right … you can register ON Election Day!)
• At City Hall during regular business hours (Monday – Friday, 8-4:30pm)
Who can register to vote?
To register to vote you must:
• be a United States citizen;
• be at least 16 years of age to pre-register (not eligible to vote);
• be a Maine resident.
What identification do I need to bring when registering?
You must show identification and proof of Bangor residency. Examples include but are not limited to:
• Driver’s license
• State identification card
• U.S. passport
• Birth Certificate
• Social Security Card
• Other official document such as public benefit determination, utility bill, bank statement, government check, etc. showing name and address
If your current Bangor address is NOT listed on the proof of identity, then you must provide additional documentation of residency. Examples include but are not limited to: motor vehicle registration, current tax return, hunting & fishing license, mail, property lease or deed.
