Dancing on Main Street

When I’m deciding who to vote for in any given political race, I find it’s important for me to understand not only a candidate’s stance on various issues, but to also understand their general character.

At the onset of the pandemic, when I could tell that things were going to take a relatively dark turn, I decided to commit myself to making the most of the situation. From dancing through the streets of Bangor, to keeping Christmas lights up all year, we (as a family) have made the most of things. The pandemic has brought us closer together and helped us to be more engaged in our community.

Of course it would be easy to get bogged down in the negativity of it all, but I believe that when you can learn to let that go, the possibilities of life become endless.

This kind of forward thinking is essential for anyone serving on the Bangor School Committee. Leadership informed by open-mindedness and an eye towards progress will yield far better results than leadership guided by situational reaction. As a committee member, I will continue to be guided by my “all things are possible” mindset and work collaboratively to achieve our collective goals.
